Finding new music feels like getting a unexpected gift that fills the void you needed; So perfect that it feels like you and the universe are in sync.

As the year comes to an end, these cold December days seem stale and unnecessary. Not even shots of espresso can motivate me to leave the weighted comfort of my bed sheets in the morning.

Hopefully these picks add value to your playlist in the same way a new coat aids your winter late night rendezvous.

New Song-

Flo Milli featuring Lil Yachty- Never Lose Me

Flo Milli’s new track “Never Lose Me” is a dreamy track that still features the mcee’s playful rap flow. Milli is one of the upcoming female artists that is on the brink of breaking into mainstream appeal.

This track was leaked a few months ago with fans pressuring both artists to release it. Lil Yachty adds his new funkadelic tone to the track that was featured on his album “Let’s Start Here”. Yachty definitely has an ear for female mcee’s so this match works well.

Artist with underrated discography-

Vince Staples

The Long Beach rapper has been dropping consistently and emerged as a stable voice in the West Coast music scene. Surrounded by talent like Tyler the Creator, Earl Sweatshirt, and YG; Staples is often overlooked for his storytelling rap ability and concept albums.

“Lift Me Up” and “Senortia” are tracks off his “Summertime in 06” album that exhibit how well he mixes his reflective bars over enticing beats.

Concept albums like “Big Fish Theory” & “FM!” are a glimpse into Staple’s mind and how he sees the world living in California. Staple’s personality is as unique as his music, displayed in his short film music videos and interviews.

His latest album “Ramona Park Broke My Heart” was one of the best rap releases in 2022. Tracks like “Rose Street, Magic, and When Sparks Fly” exhibit everything you need from the west coast artist.

Throwback Album-

Bjork-Post

Bjork is undoubtedly a legend, best known for her unique music videos and avant garde approach to her music. It’s hard to categorize her music to a specific genre as her albums shift between alternative, rock, dance, and jazz. Her second album “Post” is a great signifier of her eclectic style and one of the standouts from her discography, named one of the best albums of all time by Rolling Stone. The lead track “Army of Me” is an aggressive rock techno single with enough energy to push you through these gray December days.
